Castelo d`Água / Water Castle

By Giselda Fernandes

Common objects from daily life, some used, some discarded, day by day everywhere, like water containers, plastic bags or product wrappings are brought from oblivion into a creative partnership with my body. Kindly exploring their affordances, a human body deploys with them a spatial relationship fraught with dramatic substance. In Castelo d’Água, a 500-liter water container is the partner of the piece related to subjective feelings as well as to the objective context of urban water in Rio de Janeiro.
