Compilation

By DJs for Climate Action

Climate Soundtrack is a far-ranging sonic call to action, grown from Greenpeace's audio archive and interpreted by producers across the planet. In late 2020, DJs4CA unveiled the Climate Sample Pack, a sonic toolkit crafted from field recordings gathered during years of Greenpeace expeditions and activism across the globe. The sample pack featured iceberg claps, whales singing, monsoons, birds in the Indonesian rainforest and more incredible sounds of nature. An open call was put out to producers globally to download the pack and create original music inspired by the question “What Does The Future Sound Like?”. From Colombia to Reunion Island, France, the UK, India, Japan and everywhere in between, the sounds and project connected. With influences from around the world, the samples inspired electronic bangers, textured techno, freeform jazz, beats, and more. This compilation includes tracks from Acid Pauli, Fakear (Ninja Tune), Mark Farina and many incredible up and coming producers. Vocalists alike were inspired by the sounds and the compilation features Synapson vocalist Lass as well as promising talents. The record is produced by Green Vinyl Records (NL) using a pioneering new injection molding process which reduces emissions, is free from toxic PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride) and toxic Phthalates, and doesn’t compromise on audio quality. The Climate Soundtrack explores the vital role music and culture play in the climate movement, offering inspiring visions for the music community and beyond. With the climate samples at their root, each track is inseparable from the stories of place and planet carried inside it’s structure. Proceeds from the release will be split between DJs4CA’s future projects and donated to local, frontline organizations in some of the locations the samples were recorded.

About the Artists

DJs4CA formed in 2011 when a group of DJ colleagues felt compelled to do something about the negative aspects of their profession. Our goal is to harness the influence of Dance Music and DJ Culture to power climate solutions and generate action. We strive to give artists the tools and opportunities to use their craft and visibility to engage our community in the climate crisis. We produce events, release original music and run campaigns to raise awareness and raise funds for projects and communities. We cultivate partnerships with advocacy groups and climate conscious projects to give our response the greatest impact. We remix the climate message to engage and inspire.
