About the Artist

Oscar Chabebe

Oscar is a multi-instrumentalist (keyboards, drums, percussion, kalimbas, and guitar) and deeply curious of world traditions, always leaning towards the minimal, naive. Oscar studied classical music as a youth in the local conservatory and obtained a Studio Composition degree from SUNY PURCHASE in 2005. He lived in Japan for 7 years, and is currently back in the Dominican Republic, where he has a home studio and works also on music for artesanal documentaries, post production. He is drawn to folk, eclectic and naive tendencies. He has in recent years, been involved with film.
